Auditions

Sound Circle rehearses on Monday nights, September – May.

Auditions for Sound Circle are by appointment, as openings occur. They are typically held in August to fill openings for the coming season.

Audition requirements include strong music-reading skills, as well as the ability to learn by ear and to work with improvisation, performance experience, ability to move comfortably on stage, a simpatico connection with our sound and mission, and ability to commit to a very high level of attendance.

Auditions include basic vocalizing, pitch-matching, sight-singing, rhythm-reading, performance of a couple of a cappella selections of different genres to demonstrate vocal quality and stylistic preferences, and conversation.

The most helpful means of contacting us is to send an email which includes some details of your background, your range, and your personal singing goals. It is important that people auditioning for the group are familiar with the sound and ideally with our live performances.
